I’m completely blown away!
XLR8 by TwickSisted
My favourite progressive trance track of all time!! If you’re into weird little sub-genres of music that take you on long twisty journeys, meticulous production and thumping bass, you have to check this out! It gave me such a rush my heart hasnt stopped pounding…
Cait is a scream!
I just adore her blog. Here’s one that cracked me up:
The Sainted Mother met The Princess’s fiance’s family for the first time Saturday. We were all holding our collective breath because there is absolutely no telling what TSM will say. Since she’s hard of hearing, she says every thing very loudly. Her ‘whisper’ has a bullhorn effect. This has led to some very embarrassing moments.
Two occurred in the doctor’s office. She was eyeing a woman who was significantly overweight. Finally, she leaned towards me and ‘whispered’, “That woman is morbidly obese.” Everyone in the waiting room heard. Nowhere to look after that. Another time, she ‘whispered’, “Do you think Dr. Chen is gay?”
Fortunately, though, she likes Pug’s family. She met his mom, dad, granmom, and a brother. She opined, loudly, how attractive they all are. Of course, if she’d thought they were the worst white trash since Roseanne, she’d have said so just as loudly.
On a very secret blog somewhere on the interweb…
I found this…
I wish I could have just one dress.
psst!
Oooh!
So apparently the moon is in my 12th House of Secrets today! I just love secrets. Aquarians have all the fun ;@)
Normally I wouldn’t pimp the competition…
…especially when they grow so great and famous they don’t feel they should be associated in public linky-love with Yummy anymore *sniff*… no but seriously, you have to check out my charolastro’s new site - which he made by hand just for your enjoyment!
I love the unique personality shining through in the rich colours, personal snaps and clever wordiness. The title graphics that generate on the fly will amaze you. The flash cards will make you feel dirty like a piggy in mud. I could go on and on but I’ll say this - if you look hard enough you might even find a hidden treat ;@)
Adorable!

Armoured suits are ‘too goofy’ say US troops
American troops have complained that a new armoured body suit designed to be worn in Iraq makes them look “goofy”. The water-cooled “alien spacesuits” are being handed out to turret gunners in their notoriously vulnerable Humvee vehicles.
Great find Shawn!
The Happiness Formula
I wish I wasn’t missing The Happiness Formula on BBC 2 (Wednesdays, 7pm). It looks so interesting!!!
At least I can take The Happiness Test…

‘Canned Hunting’ Ban Proposed in South Africa
This is such great news! I’ll be ecstatic if the ban goes through.
National Geographic: The South African government last week moved to ban the practice of “canned hunting”—in which trophy hunters pay steep fees to shoot tame or drugged predators released in small enclosures.
The newly proposed laws aim to rid the country’s lucrative wildlife industry of unethical hunting and breeding practices. They also call for stiff fines and jail sentences of up to five years. more…

When it rains it sparkles
Wow, well its been a rough week with projects going way over schedule and squeezing up all over each other due to things I can’t control, together with the late hours… and then of course today my site was suspended at a crucial time just when I needed to show progress on a project to a client - I was usefully informed by my host that a php script was possibly overtaxing the server’s CPU, but that they couldnt give me more information and it wasnt their responsibility to find the offending script either. Bob’s had a look at my server logs and it looks like a gsa-grawler went crazy on my site calling every single page, and there are thousands of php pages on my site. He is putting together a full report for me which I can send as proof to my host that they need to secure things on their side. In the mean time to appease them and get my site back online, I have taken down the contact form which is usually the target of spammers on other sites (although I have never had that problem) and they have agreed to put me back online for taking the “necessary security measures”. So lame. There is nothing I can do about crawlers - that is something only my host can control if they want to. So yeah, its been a rough day and I’m feeling extremely anxious and wound up and have a ton of work to get through before bed…
But just a little while ago my heavily rained on lonesome cowboy arrived home full of smiles and bags of goodies… and presented me with a beautiful hand-written card and a whole bunch of Mother’s Day prezzies (with more to come on Sunday). Awww…… And Cait sent me a parcel of the most exquisite, dainty silver celtic jewellery which Im wearing now, and a retro stainless steel tea set from England, which couldnt have arrived on a better day.
While I never win pass-the-parcel at parties (except for that one time on my birthday my mom told me to forfeit it because I already had enough presents) I really am an unbelievably lucky person to have so many amazing people in my life :@)
The IE browser testing nightmare
Every developer knows they can only have one version of Internet Exploder running on their system at a time, which means you need to test your site on multiple machines to see how their site performs across all the different versions.
Well no more! Now you can download and run standalone versions of IE 3, IE4, IE4.01, IE 5.01, IE.5.5 and now even IE 6 (for those who have already installed IE 7 beta over their IE 6)
Find them on Evolt.org’s Browser Archive. While its not all that necessary to download IE 3 - 4 I strongly recommend you ensure your sites work correctly on IE 5, 6 and 7.
Another tool I use frequently is browsercam. You can sign up for a 24 hour free trial and test your site across multiple platforms too.

Pittsburgh Bloggers
So yummy wakame joined the Pgh Bloggers yesterday which should bring all kinds of fame, friends and good fortune. Actually I’d love to meet other bloggers from the East side which was the whole point of joining, but I can’t seem to find the zip code search on the site anywhere… and its quite a massive collection of blogs so Im not sure where to start. Oh wait, here’s a good start!
