Holy cow swallows 1722 diamonds!
A DIAMOND trader in Indias western state of Gujarat has been feeding up a cow for the last 17 days to retrieve the 1722 diamonds the animal swallowed by mistake.
Mohabbatsinh Gohil sifts daily through the cows dung and says that so far he had recovered only 555 of his precious stones. “At the rate at which the cow is discharging my diamonds, it should take another 30 days to get them all back.”
The cow has become a centre of attraction for people in Limdi, who flock around it every day waiting for it to drop its offerings to the waiting Gohil. For every diamond he finds, the crowd breaks into a cheer.
Animal sex is not illegal in Sweden, and every year between 200 and 300 pets are injured because of sexual assaults.
In contrast with most other countries, animal sex is not illegal in Sweden. It was decriminalized in 1944 in connection with the decriminalization of homosexual sex.
“We have seen an increase since 1999 when child pornography became illegal. It appears, in other words, as there are some people who have replaced children with animals. In both circumstances, it is sex with defenceless individuals.”
A British study from 2001 indicates that every 20th dog or cat that receives treatment at veterinaries, the injuries are not a result of a direct accident, but the animal has been inflicted the injury as a result of a sexual assault. That amounts to 200 to 300 dogs and cats every year.

Chastity belt sets off airport alarm
Dont you just hate it when that happens.
“When a 40-year old British woman set off a metal detector alarm at Athens airport, bemused security staff found that it was caused by a chastity belt she was wearing. According to the press report, the woman told police officers her husband had forced her to put on the belt to make sure she had no extra-marital affair during a brief visit to Greece.”
Man marries dog for luck, then dies
A 75-year-old man in Nepal married a dog in a local custom to ensure good luck only to die three days later.
With his son and other relatives by his side, Phulram Chaudhary tied the knot with a dog on Saturday in Durgauli village in the southwestern Kailali district. He was following a custom of his Tharu community which holds that an old man who regrows teeth must take a dog as a bride. “He believed that this would help him avoid great misfortune later in life. However, he died a few days afterward.”

Magic beans to the rescue
Oxfam has helped farmers in Siuna, Nicaragua, adopt an environmentally friendly method of fertilisation. Before, farmers relied on the ’slash and burn’ technique which uses the ashes of felled trees as fertiliser - and devastated the rainforest. Now, they use a very special type of bean instead.
Kind to the environment, great for crops
The bean plant’s decaying foliage feeds the soil with nutrients and acts as a natural pesticide. Farmers today are growing bumper crops - and the rainforest is left untouched. What an amazing bean!
