I just had my chinese elm pruned for winter at Bonsai-ko. After 6 months of fluffy scruffiness she looks lovely again and I can see her original shape. Its important to do this before Winter so that the mature leaves hidden under growth spurts dont die from a lack of sunlight.

Bonsai-ko is a lifesaver and really affordable. Only £5 for today’s hair cut. And if I want to have her repotted and wired in Spring thats only £5 too! (the last time I checked) Eric also offers a hospital service, holiday maintenance and free advice. He has five trees grown by the late Vic Woodward. Definitely worth a visit next time youre in Brighton!

In our efforts to make Yummy Wakame accessible to all people including those with poor vision, I changed the stylesheet last week so that font sizes aren’t forced anymore. Due to a few complaints about the font size being too small (for people with IE6 default font size ’smaller’) I have tweaked the stylesheet again today. It now looks fab in font size smaller and not so fab in medium, but for me only. How does it look to you? Happy?

Yippee! They have given us two preview clips for next weeks episode of The Office: (clip 1) (clip 2).

Wow! Sharp Corp. have unveiled a prototype pc that runs on a tiny piece of glass - a revolutionary step forward in creating ultra-flat ’sheet computers’ and ’sheet TVs’. This technique will allow other devices like LCDs, their drivers and power supplies to be integrated with the same plate of glass, embedded in a silicon membrane, something considered impossible until now.

The prototype is a functioning tiny circuit board from a Sharp CPU originally made in 1977 - imprinted on a piece of glass 15mm square and 1mm thick, with a computing power of 8 bits and a speed of 2.5 megahertz, and is based on CG silicon technology. Sharp Corp. will bring out the first products and gadgets in 2005.
