China’s Bigfoot…. a ‘wildman’, about 9 feet tall, with five-toed feet measuring some 40 centimetres in length, red hair and terrible body odour. A little bit of useless info about the Chinese Yeren.

A Chinese “Loch Ness Monster” is spotted by hundreds of sightseers, jumping out of the water like a seal.

Dan is a genius. Inspired by browny green slimey gunky jelly stuff ™ with added blood™, he built himself a wooden web server out of virtually nothing at all! Isn’t it beautiful?
President Thabo Mbeki will sign the Electronic Communication and Transactions Bill into law tomorrow. The bill includes a chapter about the control of the ZA (South African) domain on the Internet. The bill provides for government control of domain administration, instead of government participation which is contrary to international norms. Some of the chapters are technically, legally and logically flawed, creating loopholes which will affect the security of e-commerce in South Africa.
Poem ranker is a conglomeration of ideas, a side project, and an experiment. The concept came from a cross between imaginaries.org (an online writers’ workshop) and RankPeople and Hot or Not, and features the voyeuristic and exhibitionistic aspects of the above sites with something a little more tasteful…. quite interesting.
Very cool MIIB game. Check it out. Now!! The future may depend on it.

Since watching people breath liquid in the Abyss, Ive been fascinated by breathable liquid perfluorocarbons, or PFC’s for short. Pioneered in 1965 and first tested on a human in 1989, this wonder liquid may be used for all kinds of special treatments in the future. Imagine smokers and people with lung disease can have their lungs cleaned; premature infants and those with lungs damaged by lung machines can use this gentle liquid to breathe; withstanding pressure when deep-sea diving and high-g travel, including space travel. These are all possibilities.
I found some archived medical information on the subject (1996 - 2000).
When we were toddlers my nickname was “Stoenkie” (probably for stinky) and my brother’s was “parrarra” (for padda). We were both very proud of our names. Kenneth looked like the Michelin man, lots of buldges and folds of skin with a big round smily face. I was incredibly hairy and looked just like a monkey.
What was your toddler nickname? What weird stuff do you remember from when you were still in nappies?
Morbidly fascinated?

e-boy left such a lovely comment on Shanklinspony, I just had to blog it:

“i once found a hedgehog in our garden when i was about five, and i didn’t want to tell my mum because i thought she wouldn’t let me keep it. so, for about a week, i snuck out after tea and gave it milk and quavers and stuff. he was always there, waiting for me in the same place at the same time, curled up into a ball. he didn’t seem to like the quavers very much; he never ate them.
after about a week, my mum got curious and followed me up into the garden to see what i was doing. she had to gently point out that my ‘hedgehog’ was actually a rat, and, more to the point, it was dead. i didn’t visit ‘Harry’ any more after that.”
TOUNGE OF FROG manufactured in Taiwan
“Frog. If it is thrown with full of your strenght, it will spit out the tounge, which is like the genuine one from the frog.”
I really like The Prayer Group. Bottom of the page links to a BMJ page, providing some proof that prayer does have an effect, although I prefer to just accept it as is (or at least as I understand it and have made it out to work in my mind). Thing is, I think most people will agree that prayer / meditation does work in its own way, and I think that the idea of the above site is pretty cool. Mass consciousness is what I say :) (See blog below)
Your days may be numbered, oh dear blogger. Yep, we may be facing the beginning of the great Sixth Extinction.
Shelter is a good organisation….. I know there are many and similar organisations out there, but for some reason I feel I should post a link to their site. (I think its because a home is so important)
Youve all heard the term six degrees of separation, but is this actually accurate?? The Columbian University is currently researching this, and you can participate. See Comments for a further explanation.
