Breaking The Design Cycle

moss on the pathwebdesignerdepot:
Get Creative To Be Creative
This is a fantastic article that helps designers to focus their attention on real life inspiration and produce unique creations under the extreme time constraints we’re under. Steer away from visiting purely designer walls and publications for inspiration as it will result in just rehashing a mishmash of what’s already been done. Step into new creative habits…

Will Barter/Trade Web Design Services For Scooter!

I’m a big fan of trading mutually highly sought-after goods and services. If you’re a scooter company looking to revamp your website and interested in a trade, I am interested in one of the following scooters:

IL BELLO 150cc SCOOTER
Il Bello Scooter 150cc

TNG Baja 150
TNG Baja 150

Any beautifully restored 150cc Vespa
A beautifully restored red Vespa scooter

The scooter will be used for a cross-country roadtrip, which will be documented online and full props and creds will be given to the company whenever possible that wants to work with me on this trade. After all, without you this dream can’t come true! Well at least not for a very long time.

Portion Size, Then and Now

2 Pizza portionsWhile increased sizes haven’t been the sole contributor to our obesity epidemic, large quantities of cheap food have distorted our perceptions of what a typical meal is supposed to look like. These portion comparisons, adapted from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI) Portion Distortion Quiz, give a visual representation of what sizes used to be compared to what they are today.

8 Tips for Scoring Free Airline Travel Vouchers

welcome aboardAirlines like money and it turns out that the best way for airlines to make money is to ensure that there are as few empty seats on a plane as possible. When a person doesn’t show up for a flight, the seat is left empty and an empty seat is a lost opportunity for revenue. As a result of this conundrum, airlines employ fancy statisticians to figure out how many seats the airline needs to overbook just to make up for the no-shows.

Unfortunately, those statisticians aren’t fortune tellers and sometimes (okay, a lot of times), their figures are off. When the figures are off, it’s still a better deal for the airline to give you a $300 travel voucher than it is to risk letting a seat fly empty.

So, how can you cash in on all of this free travel? Here are tips to releasing your inner free-travel royalty:

The Video Shell Doesn’t Want You to See

In May 2009, multinational oil giant Shell will stand trial in United States federal court to answer to charges that it conspired in human rights abuses including murder in Nigeria in the 1990s. This mini-documentary tells the story of the rise of an inspiring and nonviolent movement for human rights and environmental justice, and the lengths Shell was willing to go to stop it.
