VD Is For Everybody

The InternetArchive.org is full of fabulous golden oldie gems, like this one:

The American Social Health Association was always experimenting with new ways to educate the public about venereal disease. They helped produce the first VD education film, “Fit to Fight”, in 1918 in order to educate soldiers being shipped abroad to fight in the first World War. Although this popular TV public service announcement informs the public that everybody is susceptible to venereal disease, strangely, it also seems to imply that having VD will make you successful, attractive and happy. Also, the song is quite infectious…

Thanks Sybrand!

Dean Kamen’s latest creation promises to do nothing short of producing clean water from virtually any liquid source (without filters) and generate enough electricity to power about 70 energy efficient light bulbs.

Segway Inventor Makes Water Generator

Kamen estimates the units will cost $1,000 to $2,000 and wants to get these into mass production ASAP so that it can be shipped to the clean-water deprived regions of our earth. Check out this video, its awesome.

Digital Interactive Fireworks

An interactive artwork that features a firework particle system created in Flash.

Pyro(technics) to the People was a massive interactive digital fireworks display that was here in Brighton last November 5th. (Which is Guy Fawkes Night for readers outside the UK). It was squeezed kicking and screaming into the world by my team at Plug-in Media, and it was made entirely in Flash.
