Delicious Morsels

This is how Straight 8 works. The filmmaker shoots a 3 minute film onto a single cartridge of Super 8 (8mm). Each cartridge has a serial number. We make a note of that before sending the film out so that people cant cheat and start again. Sometimes we send them colour film, and sometimes its Black & White. The filmmaker shoots each scene in order. Editing in-camera with each pull of the trigger. And the first time they or anyone sees the films is at a packed screening in front of hundreds of people.”

My favourite Straight 8 films:
Heel, so beautifully put together.
• But especially Evol which was shot in reverse. Just incredible.

Let me know if you liked those and I’ll post more soon.
Here is the official Straight 8 Website.
