“A lot of people don’t really understand how much money is at stake with the Iraq crusade. This diagram could help you to understand what the USA is doing, and what are it’s main goals.”

US CITIZENS CAN VOTE TO IMPEACH
Vote to impeach George W. BushThe President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors. By assuming powers of an imperial executive unaccountable to law and usurping powers of Congress, the Judiciary and those reserved to the people of the United States. They have:

1. Seized power to wage wars of aggression in defiance of the U.S. Constitution
2. Ordered and directed the violent overthrow of sovereign states
3. Threatened to wage first strike nuclear war against even non-nuclear countries
4. Trashed the Bill of Rights and fundamental freedoms of the American people

You dont need to rely on professional news sources to hear about Iraq: Salam Pax, Baghdad blogger.
(Missing since Sunday)

Iraqi FlagThe entities that call themselves “the international community” should have assumed their responsibilities a long time ago, should have thought about what the sanctions they have imposed really meant, should have looked at reports about weapons and human rights abuses a long time before having them thrown in their faces as excuses for war five minutes before midnightHow could “support democracy in Iraq” become to mean “bomb the hell out of Iraq”? why did it end up that democracy won’t happen unless we go thru war? Nobody minded an un-democratic Iraq for a very long time, now people have decided to bomb us to democracy? Well, thank you! how thoughtful.

The situation in Iraq could have been solved in other ways… It can’t have been that impossible. Look at the northern parts of Iraq, that is a model that has worked quite well, why wasn’t anybody interested in doing that in the south? Just like the US/UK UN created a protected area there why couldn’t the model be tried in the south?

Do you know when the sight of women veiled from top to bottom became common in cities in Iraq? Do you know when the question of segregation between boys and girls became red hot? When tribal law replaced THE LAW? When Wahabi became part of our vocabulary?
It only happened after the Gulf War. I think it was Cheney or Albright who said they will bomb Iraq back to the stone age, well you did. Iraqis have never accepted religious extremism in their lives. They still don’t…

Supporting The War: What Can You Do?
God Save America!“At a time when many Americans across the country are demonstrating against the war, it may be difficult for someone who happens to support the invasion of Iraq to come up with ideas on how to express their sentiments. Luckily, the Enduring Vision has compiled a list of ways to effectively and intelligently make your opinion known.”

Did you know:
face stuffing- The global population is just over 6 billion.
- 1.1 billion people world wide are underfed, of which a quarter will not reach puberty because there isn’t enough food to eat.
- New studies show that the number of overweight and obese people worldwide is not 1.1 billion as previously believed, but 1.7 billion.
- An expert for the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organizations said that if food production was organized as it is in Holland, there could be enough food to feed 67 billion people.

Fence Musicclick here to listen
the remains of the rabbit proof fence at starvation bay, western australia.“In 1995 Jon Rose built and played a barbed wire fence as part of the New Music Festival at Viitasaari, Finland. It was modeled on the border that separates Russia and Finland. Then came the idea to make an experimental radio work… an endless fence that circumnavigates the entire world, incorporating many of the conflict zones that seem unresolvable or remain as scars on the psychology of the people who must live on each side of these artificially created borders.”

Amina Lawal Case Update
Amina LawalOn 23/01/2002, the Upper Sharia Court of Appeal of Katsina announced that the hearing of Amina Lawal’s appeal against her sentence would take place today. The case had to be adjourned until June 3 after only two members of a four man panel of judges turned up, pushing the trial back until after next month’s national elections. Amina was sentenced to death by stoning, as soon as her baby girl has been weaned. Her crime: having a child out of wedlock in Nigeria. This will entail burying Amina up to her waist and stoning her until she is dead.

International human rights groups have worked hard to raise the profile of this case and fighting for her rights as they did last year for Safiya Hussaini, who was finally aquitted. As usual there were no charges made against the men who fathered these children.
