Ladyboys of Bangkok
Edinburgh's Evening Standard said "You'll never look at the opposite sex in the same way again!"
How true… Not knowing entirely what to expect, I entered the big marquee tent on Grand Parade. The lights dimmed, the curtain went back… and what a show! The Lady Boys of Bangkok really impressed me. The show consists of 16 Thai boys strutting their stuff on stage. And do they strut! But then, they can afford to. They looked great, and I have to admit – if I had to sit in a restaurant with most of the 'ladies' I would never have guessed.
You can see that a lot of time and effort has gone into putting the production together, from the dance routines and stage performances to the costumes and make-up. The set includes a range of more traditional Thai outfits and songs to contemporary European hits and costumes. The Lady Boys of Bangkok’s Greatest Hits Tour is a cabaret/revue with lots of dancing, flirting, miming, flirting, humour, flirting and fun. The act is often improvised with lots of interaction with the audience and a general good-humoured spirit. If you like cabaret and the West End, you’ll love this.
Don't miss the Cabaret of Smiles Tour: 17 June - 9 July 2005 at The Lowry, Manchester.
