Brighton Festival 2003

The Depot : Drive-in Gallery
On the first day of the festival, walking down North Road I was suddenly challenged by a life size, jellybean rhinoceros. This (obviously) intrigued me enough to go inside and explore the rest of the exhibition at the Depot. Inside you are confronted with street art – from flyers stuck to the wall in the shape of a human (or not so human), to hundreds of chicks 'crossing the road'.
It is an exhibition mainly made up of junk, leftover- and old materials, but compiled marvellously to make each visitor inspect their own thoughts on ‘waste materials’, where they come from, what they are used for and ultimately where they may end up. A great venue for the type of art on show, especially since the openness of the Depot provides spacious feeling.
