Show Your Hands

By These Horses

Set against the backdrop of the exhibition at the Depot, These Horses, final year drama students at Goldsmith, bring you Show Your Hands. Bill Lesley, Laura Shepherd, Frasier Knight and Emma Bennet have devised a spectacular performance through which they "don bad disguises… fabricate their own deaths... [and] dance to half-remembered love songs."

It is a simple, yet stunningly beautiful show with projections displayed on a backdrop (staggering images as the actors move in front of the light) and with a soundtrack playing music from an old record player on the side of the stage. Show Your Hands is wonderfully pulled off as an experimental piece. Not only do the performers take you on a journey of discovering their message, but they ultimately force you to reflect upon your own life, examining how you feel about certain issues and how you deal with various emotions.

Limited to a small capacity venue and stage, the act makes the most of the intimate atmosphere and audience using interesting lighting effects, familiar sounds and music with a history, and often breaks out of the theatrical space.

Definitely a show worth seeing!
