NOW is the essence of my domain
Saul Williams – Sha Clack Clack Remix: Starfire & Scatta
It reminds us that on the journey of life, although our history contributes to who we are NOW, it does not control our potential in the present. It is our destiny to find the “end of the road, which is the beginning of the road beyond time”. This is the mental space where we are free to manifest our truest potential, IN THE NOW.

Loving Like There Is No Tomorrow!
Oh Frank, how do I love thee? How do I begin to count the ways!!! (more…)
Jam Sessions Around a Terlingua Firepit
A spontaneous jam session happens around the firepit for hours outside the Starlight Theater, Terlingua TX in the middle of the night. Jim Keaveny (guitar and harmonica), his girlfriend Anna on the fiddle, my friend Frank (Cuatro), Shand Walton (guitar), my travel buddy Brett squeezed in between and the rest of the locals around. I’ll never forget this night.

So Haunting…
I can’t stop playing this track, and when I’m away from the computer it keeps playing in my head…
Jon Thor Birgisson, of Sigur Ros, and his partner Alex Somers collaborate under the name Riceboy Sleeps.
“Known primarily for his haunting falsetto and other-worldly presence as the singer in Sigur Rós, Jon Thor Birgisson has – together with his partner Alex Somers – been exhibiting artwork and staging exhibitions under the name Riceboy Sleeps for two or three years now, including the release of a limited edition picture book. A couple of months back the early fruits of the musical side of this collaboration surfaced in physical form for the first time, with the track “Happiness”, on the exemplary Dark Was The Night Red Hot compilation…
Now… the full-length Riceboy Sleeps album is finished and ready for release. And, as with “Happiness”, it is set to subtly redefine expectations of slow and elegiac instrumental music in 2009.”
Their self-titled debut full-length Riceboy Sleeps is out July 21 on XL. Available for pre-order.

Musicovery Web Radio
A brilliant way to discover new music or old haunts based on your mood. A personal song list is strung together for you by genre and decade in small clusters. Each colour represents a different genre, and you can dig even deeper by selecting your mood.
Bring back the feeling – create a Muxtape!
And listen to other’s. Its a glorious mixed bag of musical goodness! I love the idea behind this site and the simple way it works. You can easily share music with friends or your blog readers if that’s your thing. I simply prefer being immersed in a lot of old and new sounds I haven’t heard of yet. A great way to shake out of a stagnating music habit.
Yesterday I was all about the acoustic and live mixtapes. Right now I’m mostly listening to AcidInjection’s muxtape so I can keep sharply focussed on a tricky project I’m working on.
Please post your favourite findings in the comments and the ones you’ve made so we can all enjoy!
Help Save Japan’s Dolphins!
More than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are being slaughtered each year and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan, often times labeled as whale meat. Send a letter to President Obama, Vice President Biden and Japanese Ambassador to the United States Ichiro Fujisaki urging them to address this issue »
