This will be last snap of my old town, Marathon Motel & RV Park, Marathon TX. Chihuahuan Desert. Pop 450.
I will miss all the interesting characters that choose to live out here, the feral cats with cute squint expressions and resident tarantulas, friends around firepits, riding my bike miles out to Post Park to dip bare feet in icy springs, the tasty tasty water, Basin Radio station, fixing the weather station, Zach and his beautiful burros, the most beautiful sunsets I have ever ever seen, the occasional tumbleweed passing by reminding me of how remote and dusty this bowl I live in is, exploring abandoned places with Stephanie.
Goodbye Marathon my old love. You were once my favourite home. I hope you remain undiscovered and always retain that strange sweetness.
