Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things NOT seen! Whether you believe in Christ, Jehovah, Yahweh, Buddha, the Universe, Mother Earth, etc.etc.etc.... it is our Divine Right to Believe in those ideals or spiritual dimensions which tug at our souls and most times are naked to the visible eye. Just because it can't be seen, doesn't mean it's not real! Politics has no place in any of it...
I find Mr. President's words to be full of sarcasm and the realms of "self-reasoning" and that is his Divine right to listen to whatever voice hearkens within his psyche... but don't belittle those who DO believe in the words of the Old Testament, New Testament, Koran or the Talmud, etc.etc.etc..... It has NOTHING to do with HIS Agenda.... Politics have never joined people together in a framework of LOVE! And that's what most established religions base the foundations of their doctrines upon is LOVE for thy neighbor, LOVE for Country, Love for Fellowman, LOVE for Divine Essence!
This country was built upon those tenets.
I hear what he's saying.... but he speaks of Compromise... what compromise does he refer to? Don't take away my DIVINE RIGHT to see, hear and speak those words and thoughts and visions that the freedoms of this nation are based upon!!!! IN GOD WE TRUST!!!!
FREEDOM to BELIEVE in the DIVINE!!!
I find his words to be filled with layer upon layer of sarcasm and poignant and subversive persuasion of how a nation (our nation) should conduct their personal FAITH system.
Just my opinion.... as an American!!
Unfortunately politics and religion have been bedfellows since either was invented, used together as powerful tools to control the free-will of the masses, used through the ages as excuses for devastating wars and general land-grabbing. For that reason I personally distinguish between religion and faith. I have no religion. I have faith.
for any one who has a a true conversion knows it is not a choice. when the holy spirt comes upon you, you see the world asGods sees it. It is the best experience i have ever had.You no lnger see it as a fear ridden person you see it through love.Fear for ones self leaves and love for others overflows. You want to tell the world all about it you feel you have found the answer. you want to share it with every one who will listen. It is like when you fall in love and this person loves you for who you are and you want to tell the whole world about them. but then you get the people who try to squash what you have. but i keep pressing on because the pathway to find this is so easy but yet so hard. there isn't anything i would not do to share this with others because i have experienced his loveand i want the world to know it
Your experience is what it should be Denise, and unfortunately for many who were brought up in Christianity who I too grew up with, they missed out on the life-altering and unforgettable experience you had. Knowing that you are unconditionally and always loved. They follow religion with their heads instead of their hearts, and through no fault of their own really.
Any way that a person can reach that point, where they are overflowing with love and compassion for others, where they can tap into that unconditional love and feel it at all times, feel held and protected, and treat others with the same, is the key in my book, to happiness. And living with a full heart. It doesn't matter to me how each person finds the way to this answer. I just wish that everyone was able to stumble on it in their life time, to have that opportunity. I feel lucky to accidentally stumbled on a path to it in the dark. I might have lived the rest of life without knowing that love is the key, or known about it but not known how to get there.
Joseph says hi by the way :)
