The UNs New Art Dome in Geneva
Spanish artist Miguel Barcelo was commissioned by the Foundation ONUART on the sixtieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to undertake the painting of the ceiling, the most extensive work of art in the history of the United Nations at the venue for the Human Rights Council. Barcelo used over one hundred tones of paint with pigments from all corners of the globe on the enormous 1500 metres squared dome and it took him more than a year to produce. The complete renovations to Room XX cost approximately 20 million Euros ($25 million)
A truly incredible sight – I hope I’ll get to visit it one day.

I thought it was a cave when I saw the top pic! But its just scaffolding he’s walking on to get to the ceiling.
And to think, UN delegates will be getting high on fumes and zoning out from the optical illusions for years to come.

Was this originally a cave or just made to look like stalagmites? (Or are they stalactites?)
And seriously, though this is very beautiful, they’re just asking to have it taken over by an evil sinister type bent on world domination – it totally looks like an evil headquarters!
