In Loving Memory of the Thunder Moon
Iron & Wine – The Sea and the Rhythm
Tonight, we’re the sea and the salty breeze
the milk from your breast is on my lips
and lovelier words from your mouth to me
when salty my sweat and fingertipsOur hands they seek the end of afternoon
My hands believe and move over youTonight, we’re the sea and
the rhythm there
the waves and the wind and night is black
tonight we’re the scent of your
long black hair
spread out like your breath
across my back
Your hands they move like waves over me
beneath the moon, tonight, we’re the sea
FOOTSKATING 101
Footskating was originally developed by people who couldn’t afford skateboards, and then also taken up by people who left their skateboards at home, but had already been dropped at the skatepark.
The movie is inspiring Footskaters around the world to show off their awesomest moves on YouTube. Like these dudes…
What's been up annat
Sorry about the lack of posts my sweet and pesky friends. I hadn’t noticed how slack I’ve been ’till just two days ago. Life has been more hectic than usual settling into a new home and new routine with two demanding but very cute boys to look after. And I’m spending a good portion of the day running again! For the first time since 13 odd years ago. Nothing quite beats the high or how wide-eyed and sparkly-brained I feel afterwards. I can’t wait until I’m fit enough to enter a real marathon. I guess it would help to get some actual running shoes… and a sports bra wouldn’t hurt either, but I don’t really take myself seriously as a runner yet so it seems like a silly idea to spend a bunch on such a fledgling obsession.
Aside from running and freelancing I’ve been busying myself with all sorts of goodies lately and I want to share the good times:
Big Fish Games
Addictive high quality games ready to download. Super cheap with 60 minute trials. You could easily play all day for free just trying out the different games like I often do. My current favourites are Boggle and Restaurant Empire.
Oh boy. I’m not even going to get into how much time I spend there… its quite sad really.
BBC Radio 4
Every day I delve through the archives to find all sorts of amazing plays. Keeps creative boredom at bay when I’m doing an all-nighter on a tough design.
TV-links
A giant and really well organized archive of streaming TV shows. At the moment I’m watching the last season of Sopranos while I work.
The Great Allegheny Passage
I’ve been planning a huge walking adventure with Nykki for some time. Looking to start the first leg next week… maybe. will keep you posted!
Help Save Japan’s Dolphins!
More than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are being slaughtered each year and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan, often times labeled as whale meat. Send a letter to President Obama, Vice President Biden and Japanese Ambassador to the United States Ichiro Fujisaki urging them to address this issue »
