Test Euro Knowledge (Get it?!)

I vant to determine your country of origin! Muwhahahahahah!Okay check out this handy little game that shows you the big bad continent of Europe and asks you to place the countries in their appropriate positions. Pretty fun and also informative!

But who knew there were so many little countries, smaller than the size of some cities…

nathan says:

I got 35 out of 45 and an average of 106 miles away for my errors.

Seriously though, Malta, c’mon now!

CHAD says:

yes! i can’t wait to try this. if you don’t see a follow up post with my score, consider that it’s less than nathan’s mark (which i’ll assume was bumped a point or two with him thinking ‘oh i knew that one’ after missing it so then giving himself credit)

Fuschia Faery says:

Firelord and I combined just got 32 out of 45. My excuse (especially bearing in mind we’ve just been to Turkey and flown over half these places!) is that I’m from round the other side of the world, and as for Firelord, I think his computer game had a bit more of his attention!

Great little game!

stobby bones at work says:

breaking down firewalls one at a time!

niqkita says:

This was fun as discovering the Google Earth exe, great fun indeed! and I got 35 out of 45 which was better than I expected, darn those itty bitty countries.

Cait says:

That was fun.

Eon says:

Got a bit addicted and did all the puzzles. I didn’t know Mexico had so many states!

Cat says:

Gee! what do you guys learn at school??? I mean do you go to school?
In Europe, we do learn about African geography AND history. We learn about the whole world as a matter of fact. Welcome to your world anyway!

nathan says:

Hmmm, well I’d say that pretty much everyone who posted their score did pretty well…

I mean, getting 10 wrong isn’t that bad, considering how miniscule and unheard of AT LEAST 10 of the countries are….

I’d bet that anyone taking a similar test on Africa, Asia or the Americas would be lucky to get that many. Oh and also, USA RULEZ!

nathan says:

Oh, but you’ll notice that Olivia didn’t play…it’s because she was upset that her superior South African brain wasn’t as knowledgable as the one sitting on my Bible Belted Redneck…

Olivia says:

Pfft whatever.

My Bible-Belted Redneck yeehaw didn’t even know Mexico had any states.

*rolls eyes*

CHAD says:

*hand covers mouth smothering a laugh at nathan’s simplicity*

CHAD says:

ha, damn, 34. blasted vatican city. i didn’t think i had to be that exact. it was fun but a little silly when i found myself fitting puzzle pieces more than knowing where to put things. if you get easy ones of the bat your score will be higher i’d think.

yeah since i missed almost all the tiny ones, haha, except malta that i got lucky and placed it exactly right (really, to my surprise), africa and south america i think would be easier

wolfman says:

hmm… difficult game…. 38/45. Confound those small countries. As Duncan Headstealer would remind me of our travels through Andora and encounter with ferocious Andorian Battle Monks… no pun intended Click.

Throw in your 2 cents...

I’d love that!

Protect the Western Arctic Reserve From Big Oil

The Western Arctic Reserve, also known as the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, is the largest tract of unprotected, relatively pristine public land in the United States. The 23.5 million-acre reserve is home to imperiled polar bears, seabirds and one of the densest populations of nesting raptors in the world. Its shores and lagoons harbor beluga whales, seals, walruses and other marine mammals. The BLM is accepting comments on a planning document that sets the stage for oil and gas leasing in the western Arctic for decades to come. Help save this national treasure by telling the BLM to protect the Western Arctic Reserve from dirty fossil fuel development »
