“Everything we do” video mp3

the bandOoh this is SO catchy! I heard it for the first time on my new D500 and I can’t get the tune out of my head. Today I decided to find out more about the band and discovered to my amazement they’re Danish!! Mmmm and lead singer with the serious cowboy thing going has multiple talents – he designed the site too.

The video could make you long for roadtrips through the desert and cowgirls with big bowling balls.

Go forth, explore the main search engines, and remember the differences:

This is for sure one of the most important parts of searchlores, and you would be well advised to try some of the incredibly powerful search engines listed below. If you limit yourself to google (that on 10/NOV/2004 doubled it’s index to 8 billions pages) you ‘ll miss more than two thirds of the web!

One Google to rule them all with broad might, and americanocentric censorship, one Teoma to refine and refine and refine the queryes, one Fast for the obscure deep web, to bring us all in the depth, and in the darkness enlighten us…

Spring in, if you dare! Again, you have been warned: at first you’ll only fathom the existence of the abyss, only later you’ll understand its real depth and width.

Protesting

Love Park“A Philadelphia police officer died of an apparent heart attack Tuesday after a scuffle with protesters outside BIO 2005, the Biotechnology Industry Organization’s annual trade show and convention being held this year in [Philadelphia].”

Biotech protesters and disgruntled skateboarders appeared in troves, albeit by coincidence, at Philly’s Love Park, each to demonstrate for their own respective causes. The biotechnology protesters had come to get their views out amidst BIO 2005, a huge convention for the biotech industry. The skateboarders had come to take back Love Park, which is to skateboarding as Jerusalem is to Palestinians.

Liquor Does It Quicker

Saab’s BioPower engine gives ethanol a kick in the pants

Popular Science: “With all the buzz about hybrids, it’s easy to ignore our homegrown alternative fuel: ethanol. Clean-burning and infinitely renewable—we’re talking grain alcohol—ethanol is dear to environmentalists and economists alike. The standard 85/15-percent ethanol/gasoline blend (E85) is widely used in Sweden, but there are only 313 E85 fueling stations in the U.S. And motorheads aren’t clamoring for more, because E85 typically delivers inferior fuel economy; it has about 75 percent of the potential energy of gasoline, so it takes up to 20 percent more hooch to keep horsepower on par. But E85 also has a high octane rating (around 110), and Saab realized that a turbocharger could harness it. Turbos push extra air into the cylinder, and higher octane allows a fuel to better endure the increased pressure. So Saab cranked up its fans and created the BioPower engine, the first commercially available ethanol turbo. A computer samples the fuel mixture and adjusts boost pressure—from 5.8 psi for pure gasoline to 13.8 psi for E85. Running straight gasoline, the engine produces 148 horsepower, but E85 jacks it up to 184, with no penalty in fuel economy.”

Check out the stats.

Jeez, but Cobol was the most long winded language I ever learnt

You have to type all of this just to print “Hello world” to screen:

PROGRAM-ID. HELLO.
ENVIRONMENT DIVISION.
DATA DIVISION.
PROCEDURE DIVISION.
MAIN SECTION.
DISPLAY “Hello World!”
STOP RUN.

Still, it’s not as long-winded as

Pantone to RGB colour conversion

I’ve created a Pantone to RGB conversion table to help change from print to screen colours. I hope you find this of some use.”

Help Save Japan’s Dolphins!

More than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are being slaughtered each year and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan, often times labeled as whale meat.
