Asthma risk ‘exacerbated by house air fresheners’
“Air fresheners, furniture polish and household cleaners may increase the risk of asthma in young children, a study has found. Those exposed to fumes from common domestic products were up to four times more likely to develop asthma than those who were not.”
Oh big surprise!! Why cant people just THINK, logically, about these things. Obviously filling the air with even more chemicals is going to irrirate the lungs and annoy the immune system. I cant believe they’ve only just realised this now.
Slather on body creams and sunblock all the time, and yes it will poison you over time and the chemicals can cause cancer. The skin is the biggest organ in the body after all, and it absorbs everything. You heard it here first.
And while Im on a rant, let it be heard here first too, that those expensive Reverse Osmosis water filters people are installing on their plumbing at home, will harm your health too. Yes, the water that comes out of it is 100% pure, but because all the good minerals have been stripped out too, when the water enters the body it will leach those valuable minerals out of your body as it passes through. So unless youre plannning to add balanced minerals to the water afterwards, it is not a good idea. And adding ‘water softeners’ is probably even worse for you in the long run, as you should really be drinking very alkaline water to keep ‘free radicals’ at bay. Of course none of this is ‘scientifically proven’ yet, but its logical. Put fish in pure RO water with no added minerals (or plants/shells/coral/etc to give off minerals) and they will have health problems and wont live very long at all.

Religion isn’t the solution — it’s the problem
found by Bsti. use BugMeNot to access the article.
“Religious faith is always, and everywhere, exonerated. It is now taboo in every corner of our culture to criticize a person’s religious beliefs. Consequently, we are unable to even name, much less oppose, one of the most pervasive causes of human conflict. And the fact that there are very real and consequential differences between the major religious traditions is simply never discussed.
There are now more people in our country who believe that the universe was created in six solar days than there were in Europe in the 14th century.
It is time we recognize that religious beliefs have consequences. As a man believes, so he will act.
Believe that there is a God who sees and knows all things, and yet remains so provincial a creature as to be scandalized by certain sexual acts between consenting adults, and you will think it ethical to punish people for engaging in private behavior that harms no one.
Perhaps it is time we subjected our religious beliefs to the same standards of evidence we require in every other sphere of our lives. Perhaps it is time for us to realize, at the dawn of this perilous century, that we are paying too high a price to maintain the iconography of our ignorance.”

Help Save Japan’s Dolphins!
More than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises are being slaughtered each year and their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is being sold as food in Japan, often times labeled as whale meat.
